FOUNDER’S BACKGROUND
My name is Israel Kisanga, the founder and director of OVERWOME Organization based at Moshi Tanzania. I’m glad to invite all of you especially those who are interested to work with us. I will give you warm welcome to OVERWOME Organization. In brief I'm from a family of four children. In my childhood I grew up closely with total orphaned children and those who were partially orphaned. This situation repeated several times the whole life of my study from primary school to higher learning education where I always found myself touched and having big burden on how they can be sustain them.

Reasons behind
Before I went to higher learning education in 2007, I was teaching business subjects in a secondary school for five years. I realized that some students were not concentrating fully during their lessons, and after  a simple research where I interviewed one after another the findings were as follows; there were  two main reasons that faced them and which contributed to failure in their subjects. 

Firstly, some of them were students coming from very poor backgrounds where even the breakfast was a problem, and ate only a meal a day. Their average life status was below 1$ per day. The second observation showed that, they remained students being total orphans and those who are partially orphaned. These two main factors contributed a continuous decline of their class performance during the period of their studying.

After my university studies in 2010, I have been encountered by many poor people that are not gifted by nature, suffering, crying and extensively pained by problems of every kind but unfortunately there is no even a single person who pays consideration to their worse situation. It was a bit challenged in my heart and every time the same questions was triggering my mind on who will address the challenges these people were going through. 

When I tried to share the issue to my friends, everyone was busy to his work, family and always facing a lot of discouragement from different entities. It is by this point of view which led the formation of OVERWOME Organization to bridges and links these vulnerable groups of people seemed as despised by the community to have the equal right as others.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND
The OVERWOME is a NPO (non-profit organization), located in Moshi Town, Tanzania. It is a subspecies of NGOs (non-governmental organizations). The Organization was established in 2010 and registered in 2013 as a Non-Governmental Organization under Companies law of Tanzania Cap 2002 for companies limited by guarantee having no shares capital. The foundation is made up with twelve members coming from different occupational fields including accounting, management, health, legal, agriculture, entrepreneurship and self-employment.

Since 2010 the organization's founders initiate the formality of putting this idea of supporting the group of less privileged people in the community into action. It was officially permitted as non-governmental organization with a remit to work with a wider range of civic development issues specifically gender equality and culture, environment, poverty, health, education, HIV and AIDS sufferers. Our organization started to establish programs, standards, policies, guidelines and directions to which will enhance staffs, management and collaborative groups to meet the focused targets.

OVERWOME identifies itself with particular services e.g. supporting and assisting community development. Therefore it aims for poverty reduction, well being improvement and preservation of nature.

PURPOSE
Which aspects do people motivate to have the desire of getting a better quality of life? The purpose of OVERWOME addresses this question and is the main part of the program. Each sustainable project will deliver the answer. In general, these projects are carried out to raise awareness of sustainable issues due to the most actions of the population are based on non-knowledge or non-concern.

VIMICO, SUVITRI, objectives and values
The strategic entire program takes up our VIMICO, SUVITRI, objectives and values. Our vision gives the reason for our existence and thus our ultimate aim. Our mission describes the actions used for the way to our vision in order to justify and honor our existence. The objectives give us the direction for sustainable actions. Our values refer to the internal organizational handling of each other.

VIMICO
VIMICO is the abbreviation of Vision-Mission-Construction and was defined by the long-term strategic goals and objectives of OVERWOME developments.

Vision
Our vision is to strengthen and promote especially vulnerable groups of people of all types of the existing and future Tanzanian generation concerning economic, social and environmental terms. 

Mission
Our mission is to involve into all areas of life focusing on the everyday human life, education, environmental conservation, genders equality, human rights, economics and related aspects to improve living conditions of especially the vulnerable groups of persons through education improvement and better usage of natural resources for today’s and coming generation.

SUVITRI
SUVITRI is the abbreviation for Sustainable Vision Triangle and is also an Indonesian name that stands for intrinsic motivation. According to this parallel, the basic theory of OVERWOME is the right starting point of the sustainable program. Thus, sustainability is future-oriented because of the supply of present and future generations.

General SUVITRI
The program is based on the idea of a sustained motivation and satisfaction of all participants for managing its VIMICO. The crucial principle is: Vision determines motivation, motivation determines the mission. The fundamental milestones of the path for sustainable satisfaction of all participants are:
  • Emotions trigger vision imagination
  • Vision triggers the motivation
  • Motivation triggers the need for action
  • Need for action of development is further education
  • Implementation of the theory in practice
  • Continuous implementation of activities
  • Development of action
  • Satisfaction through development

MOtiVation and Education serve as a basis of development and implies movement. Theory influences practice, practice influences the result. Thus, every program-oriented project is not only based on motivation and satisfaction, but also on education. The following cycle must be avoided.

OVERWOME’s SUVITRI
The organizational SUVITRI can be reached out of the motivation, satisfaction and education of its employees. The next steps must be followed and the main SUVITRI elements are also illustrated by a pyramid:

  • Programs and projects trigger motivation
  • Motivation triggers the need for action of further education
  • Responsibility through education improvement
  • Continuous application of new knowledge
  • Ecological, economic and social development progresses
  • Achieving social protection as satisfaction by ecological and economic development progresses
